"Pear Pleasure" Oil on canvas by Joane Moran A.F.C.A.
"Composition of “Pear Pleasure” evolved firstly wanting to paint pears. Blossoms came later and picked from my daughter's very lush pear tree. Respecting what pears and their blossoms symbolize, fruitfulness, hope and grace, I wanted to make the best impact by slightly enlarging the images to best encompass the large 36”×36” canvas. By adding a simple clear glass vase, also enlarged, displays the reflected pear and adds extra light and dark contrasts. Keeping the background calm allows the subjects to pop."
JOANE MORAN A.F.C.A.
Joane Moran grew up on the North Shore of Vancouver, B.C. She was inspired by her surroundings of the West Coast and had an insatiable interest in colourful drawing at an early age studying weekly with private informal oil painting classes, mainly landscapes of England. She loves to experience and learn all subject matters, but would always return to a more classic style. As an avid gardener, inspiration to paint what she grows in spectacular colours, holds her interest.
JOANE has participated in many exhibitions in Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo and close to home in Cowichan Valley winning several awards and awarded Signature Status with the Federation of Canadian Artists.
