Artist Statement:
My passion for art started early in my childhood.I loved to draw, then started to use watercolours, later on oils and finally acrylics. My passion for different styles is very broad.Initially it was realism including wildlife ( I was pleased to receive honerable mention for my wolf and placed second for blue heron). However my creative ambitions kept spuring me on. After we moved to Nanaimo new scenes flooded my senses, the ocean and the forest! Also I started to experiment with abstract images and mixed media on board and canvas. The diversity of styles keeps me excited and motivated.I joined the Federation of Canadian Artists and recieved my AFCA designation in 2009.I am grateful for a number of awards that I have received over the years for my work. My work is on the cover of "Translating Canada" by the University of Ottawa Press. My painting "Forest Pattern # 5" is on the cover of the "Canadian Journal of Rural Medicine" and I was pleased to be published in "Salt" magazine fall/winter 2014.I work in my home studio and am open to commision works and welcome visitors and clients to my studio.
