In the late ‘90s, Elissa moved to Vancouver Island. She has flourished and grown as an oil painter, primarily in landscapes, but segues into large-format florals.

She taught and exhibited for three years at the Major Gallery in Parksville and was a resident artist at The Old School House in Qualicum Beach for four years.

Elissa took part in the West Coast Mural Mosaic with over 190 artists to create a large mural, Kunamokst, unveiled at the 2010 Olympics. Artist Statement:
I love colour, and I am not afraid to use it!
I enjoy working in oils mainly, as I enjoy the way it moves and blends.
My skies are a by product of this ease of blending.
I love the challenge of a large canvas and can get pretty excite3d seeing a blank 30" x 40" white canvas!
Working in series; such as sunsets, seascapes and large format florals means I can keep my work fresh and keep the passion for painting. It also allows me to learn new skills.
I do alot of commission work and seem to be able to envision what the clients want.
